The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot steel sculpture made by artist Blackbear Bosin. It was erected in the 70s and has since become dwarfed by the new buildings downtown. So, the city recently raised the sculpture 30 feet higher and landscaped the area with native plants. They also added a very modern bridge/walkway to the sculpture along with two large display walls about the Plains Indians culture and traditions. We took Ryan’s mom Julie and his brother Sean there during Sean’s visit.
